It will be auctioned on Tuesday May 30.The stunning view from the property. The four-bedrom original double cavity red brick 1950s Art Deco home is on 1325sq m of absolute river front land.“It has been a rental property with plans to redevelop into our ideal family home,’’ O’Neill said.“Time has flown past, our kids are a lot older and with our busy commitments we have less time to project manage the build. The sloping property sits on the river and is on a secluded cul-de-sac.More from newsMould, age, not enough to stop 17 bidders fighting for this home5 hours agoBuyers ‘crazy’ not to take govt freebies, says 28-yr-old investor5 hours ago“We spent considerable time and effort on plans to redevelop the site. We think it has very unique and amazing potential. The secluded and private nature of the cul-de-sac, the elevated flood free outlook and the enormous feeling of space so close to the city. But with life and work commitments becoming more consuming and our children getting older, our plans have shifted, and we are happy to continue living in our current Yeronga home.’’The listing follows the recent sale by the couple of their property at Cabarita in northern NSW for $3 million. It’s certainly not a bad view from the Yeronga property.O’Neill said they had always intended to sell that property when their youngest was in grade five at school.“We knew school and sport commitments would hinder our usage. It was fantastic when the kids were young, with surfing and nippers.’’It’s understood that home, which initially passed in at auction, sold soon after to a Singapore-based expat.Susie O’Neill has listed the home she bought nine years ago 108 Rome St. Yeronga South.O’Neill said the Yeronga home had appealed because of its position on a wide bend of the river.“The view is amazing, there are no houses on the other side (of the river),’’ she said. She said they bought the home when she had just finished swimming and thought she would be a stay-at-home mum. While that is still her main role, O’Neill now has various media commitments including with Brisbane’s Nova radio station. The home sits on an elevated block.
