Official Tribute Song for Quincy B Drops Tomorrow

first_imgRawlo, the producer of the official Quincy B tributeRawlo, a Nigerian producer based in Liberia, has collaborated with 19 artists to cook the official tribute song for the fallen artist, Quincy B.The song used the beat and intro of CIC’s (one of the artists in the car with Quincy the morning of the accident) “Brother” song, with some addition, to deliver a soft tempo track. In the song, tilted “All Star Tribute to Quincy B,” the artists either expressed shock or talked about their relationship with the late artist. The catchiest line of the song is, “I wish you were here to stay/thinking that we can be more than friends/brother…”CIC, who is currently on ‘sick bed’ because of the broken leg he sustained from the accident, also rapped on the song praying that God receives Quincy’s soul in heaven. In addition, Margas and Feouls Kaba, the two other artists that were along with Quincy B during his last moments on earth, rapped on the single as well. The song also features DenG, Takun J, the groups Soul Fresh and Christoph, arguably the best rappers in the county. The song, according to its producer, Rawlo, took a week and a half to record, master and mix.Rawlo said the selection process was tough, but at the end, he used a simple method by assembling the names of artists who had a close relationship with the late music icon.“I had too many names in mind earlier; however, I used a very simple selection process like looking at artists who built a close relationship with Quincy B when he was alive, excluding the three artists that were with him that night when the car summersaulted.“I understand every artist feels the death of QB, but on a tribute song, you need people who know and have worked with the late artist,” Rawlo said.Rawlo revealed that CIC’s rap on the track was recorded while on ‘sick bed.’“Seeing CIC recording his part on ‘sick bed’ was sad. CIC cried a lot. It was difficult but we managed to cross the hurdles to move on,” he added.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img read more
