Arsenal fans are getting excited for the 2016/17 season and here’s why

first_imgThere is, despite the negativity often surrounding the Emirates, plenty to look forward to at Arsenal. With Leicester City cruising to Premier League triumph, pressure has been heightened even further on the Gunners to deliver. And while some may be left frustrated after another season of underachievement, it’s time to move on from the disappointment. So, check out four reasons Arsenal fans should be getting excited for the 2016/17 season by viewing the slideshow above. 4 2. A fresh midfield – Not only do the Gunners welcome Granit Xhaka to their midfield, but the likes of Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla are returning to full fitness. With Mohamed Elneny, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also available, Wenger has a whole host of options in the centre of the park. Provided yet another injury crisis doesn’t affect the squad, Arsenal will have one of the strongest midfields in the Premier League. 4 3. Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey – Giroud and Ramsey, despite a season in which they came in for criticism over their influence at the Emirates, were excellent at the Euro 2016 finals. The pair will therefore return to north London confident of sealing a place in Wenger’s starting XI next season. Giroud may have been linked with an exit over the past week, but it would surely be madness if he is sold. As for Ramsey, the Welshman thrived in an attacking role for Wales and his performances should have given him just the boost needed. 1.
