LaCie has a solution for USB 30 on Mac

first_imgIf you want USB 3.0 on your Mac then Apple isn’t going to help. In fact, Steve Jobs doesn’t see any need for it in the short term.Getting access to that 5Gb/s transfer speed is possible if you go through a 3rd party manufacturer, though and LaCie has come up with a complete solution.AdChoices广告There’s actually two things you need from LaCie to make USB 3.0 work. The first is either an Express Card or an ExpressCard/34 which gives you the USB 3.0 ports to plug into. The second is the just released LaCie USB 3.0 Driver for Mac OS.Until today such a combination wasn’t available as LaCie has only just released the required driver. But now it’s possible to take full advantage of USB 3.0 hard drives including the newly announced 6TB 2big external drive also from LaCie.In order to use LaCie’s solution you need to be running at least Mac OS X 10.5.Read more at the LaCie press releaselast_img read more
