Ward secretaries to play key role in addressing civic issues

first_imgVijayawada: Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Botcha Satyanarayana has said that the ward secretaries appointed by the State government will play important role in addressing the civic issues in urban local bodies in the State. He said the ward secretaries would work under the supervision of an administrative secretary in the respective ward and they would work in co-ordination with the municipal staff. Similarly, the ward secretaries will collect information on civic issues like supply of drinking water in the municipal wards, maintenance of roads, culverts, sanitation and collection of garbage and other issues in the municipalities and the corporations. He said the government would fill up four lakh jobs through the village secretariats and ward secretariats and fulfill the promise made to the people of the State during the Padayatra of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. Advertise With Us He informed that one volunteer will be appointed for every 50 families and the volunteers take care of delivery of ration to the households. He said the YSRCP government was trying to implement Navaratnalu within 60 days of assuming power in the State. He said the YSRCP government had passed very important Bills in the Assembly in less than two months of assuming power. He said Bills related to the farmers, tenders, implementation of reservations to the SC, ST, BC and Minorities for the nominated posts are historical and would be beneficial to the people.last_img read more
