Owner of Santa’s Island, Pat Doherty, has revealed that they have been inundated with hundreds of bookings in a few short hours.“There has been a tremendous reaction. People just can’t get enough of Christmas. We have had hundreds of bookings already,” he revealed.Although the attraction at Doagh Island, Clonmany, does not officially open until November 22nd, the attraction is already taking shape. The attraction enjoys a super reputation with people coming from as far as England to visit   the attraction which opens on the site of the popular Doagh Famine Village. As well as live animals, a Santa workshop and office, a life-size Santa sleigh, Santa’s Island features a live Elves Disco.Pat revealed that the attraction, which has been open since 1999, hosts visitors from as far away as England and across the length and breadth of Ireland. He says the only think thing is usually missing from Donegal’s version of Santa’s Lapland is the snow. But he added “We think that’s a good thing because you simply couldn’t get around Donegal if it was snowing.“We are located on the Inishowen Peninsula and many of the roads would be impassable if we got have snow. “We have everything lapland has but the snow but everyone has a once-in-a-lifetime experience when they come here.”The popularity of Santa’s Island has also led to a huge spin-off to hotels on the peninsula with hotels offering special packages for families coming to visit Santa’s Island.SNOW JOKE – SANTA’S DONEGAL GROTTO IS ALREADY SWAMPED WITH BOOKINGS! was last modified: August 11th, 2015 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:CHristmasclonmanydonegalPat DohertySanta’s Islandlast_img read more
