Rhine Named MVC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the Fourth Time

first_imgShe started the weekend with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting to go with a season-high 14 rebounds in the Bradley win. She added two assists, two blocks and two steals in just 20 minutes. Rhine followed that performance with another 22 points on 9-of-18 shooting and 11 rebounds and one block and one steal in 22 minutes in the win over Illinois State. Rhine, who won MVC Player of the Week each of the first three weeks, posted back-to-back double-doubles in helping lead the Bulldogs to a pair of league road wins in the first week of MVC play. ST. LOUIS – Sara Rhine (Eldon, Mo.) of the Drake University women’s basketball team is the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, the MVC office announced Monday, Jan. 7. Rhine leads the conference in scoring at 19.0 points per game and field goal percentage at 58.8 while she ranks second in rebounding at 8.6 per game. Rhine has scored 20 or more points in five out of the past six games. This her eighth career MVC Player of the Week honor.
