Men’s Basketball To Meet Missouri State Wednesday Night

first_imgThe Drake University men’s basketball team closes out its two-game homestand on Wednesday evening against Missouri State. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. with the contest being broadcast broadcast on Mediacom MC22 and The Valley On ESPN3.Wednesday is also another ‘Half-Price Wednesday’ at the Knapp Center. On the day of the game, mention “Half-Price Wednesday” and purchase general admission tickets at half price.The Bulldogs are aiming for their first MVC win of the season after starting the Valley season with six-straight losses to fall to 5-13 overall.  MSU makes its annual trek to Des Moines with a 7-11 record and a 3-3 mark in MVC action. The Bears are 2-1 on the road in the MVC this season.Drake’s leading scorer, Reed Timmer, is coming off a 27-point performance against SIU, his sixth 20-point game of the season. The guard ranks third in the MVC in scoring at 17.6 points per game while Kale Abrahamson also ranks in the top 10 at 13.8 points per game.The Bears are led by Camyn Boone’s 11.9 and 6.5 rebounds per game. Ryan Kreklow, the son of Drake All-American Wayne Kreklow, is Missouri State’s fifth leading scorer at 7.1 points per game as a freshman.The last time Missouri State visited the Knapp Center, Drake engineered a 78-43 win, its largest margin of victory in the series behind Timmer’s 17 points off the bench.This season, Timmer is shooting 48.3 percent from three-point range as one of three Bulldogs along with Graham Woodward (.402) and Kale Abrahamson (.390)  to rank in the top 10 in the MVC in three-point percentage.Following Wednesday’s game, the Bulldogs return to the road for a pair of games in Illinois starting with a Saturday afternoon contest at Loyola on Jan. 23.Print Friendly Versionlast_img read more
