first_imgOn November 16th – 17th, 2018 the National Marine Sanctuaries office will host their 3rd Annual Open Fishing Tournament.The goal of this tournament is to work with the community to promote sustainable fishing practices in our local Marine Sanctuaries to ensure the continued health of our marine ecosystems for present and future generations.Categories for this year’s tournament will be Billfish, Dogtooth, Masi Masi, Wahoo, Yellowfin, and Miscellaneous catch.Prizes range from $100 – $400 per category and then a grand prize of $1000 for the tournament participant who beats the 431lb marlin record! Registration is open until November 15th and is $100 per boat.Tournament starts on November 16th at 6am with daily weigh-ins at 5pm. An official award ceremony will be held on November 17th at 6pm.All registration packets can be picked up from the Tauese P.F.
